Before we tell you about the positions, let us tell who we are and what we're looking for.
Blue Jupiter is a 4 person contemporary a cappella group that sings pop and some very hip jazz. Some people call us a vocal band. We sound a lot more like a band than a barbershop quartet or doo-wop group.
We've won awards, toured all over the world, been on radio and TV and been featured on national commercials. You can learn more about us here.
What we're looking for:
A true high first tenor. How high? You can hang out from G below middle C to the E an octave and a third above with complete ease and give a full voiced performance on classic tenor material from Journey to Stevie Wonder to Rascal Flatts.
You have a great ear and easily pick up and hold complex harmonies without much rehearsal. You have your own style and yet you can also fit in to a group.
You love to rock out in front of a huge crowd, but you are just as happy to pose for pictures with fans, help send out mailings, blog about life on the road, and do all the time-consuming thankless business hustling that career musicians have to do. Your friends would say you are a very positive, caring, easy going person who easily adapts to high pressure situations and makes a fun adventure out of killing time in an airport while the plane is delayed. Money would be great, but you are in this because you have a passion for music.

5) If you somehow don't have a recording or photo or aren't available for some sliver of the time we are demanding, but still feel that you are right for the position, CONTACT US, explain and we may just possibly make an exception.
High Tenor Opportunity #1: National TV Reality Show
UNPAID POSITION WITH NATIONAL TELEVISION EXPOSURE
You are available for an in-person audition Tuesday 9-1-09, or Wed 9-2-09 after 7 PM in NYC.
If you make it, you will be given music to learn by ear. (Your part will be isolated in one ear of your headphones).
You will rehearse with the rest of the group nightly, or almost nightly, in NYC with the last rehearsal being 9-9-09.
You will meet us at the audition on 9-12-09 at around noon (exact time TBA) in NYC. We will sing for the producers.
If we are selected as a group, we will be flown (at their expense) to Los Angeles, CA from November 28 to December 23, 2009 where they will film us as contestants on an a cappella reality competition show. The winning groups gets a record contract. The other competing groups will still get national television exposure.
High Tenor Opportunity #2: Full Touring with Blue Jupiter
PAID POSITION.
You are available for an in-person audition Tuesday 9-1-09, or Wed 9-2-09 after 7 PM in NYC.
If you make it, you will be given music to learn by ear. (Your part will be isolated in one ear of your headphones).
You will rehearse with the rest of the group nightly, or almost nightly, in NYC with the last rehearsal being 9-9-09.
You will then fly out with us to perform Sept 10, 11 and 12, 2009 and September 17 and the 19th, 2009. The next performance is on September 24th. If you end up selected as the right person for this group, many more dates are booked and you will perform with all around the US and around the world.
High Tenor Opportunity #3: Sub Work Touring with Blue Jupiter
PAID POSITION
You are available for an in-person audition Tuesday 9-1-09, or Wed 9-2-09 after 7 PM in NYC.
If you make it, you will be given music to learn by ear. (Your part will be isolated in one ear of your headphones).
Sporadically throughout the year, we will call you to perform with us at shows where one of our members can't attend.
